Sanders At The Bat

I awoke last night at about 4:00 am, after a rare Mano's softball win, from the following dream:

Disclaimer...I don't need to know about flaws like how long our games can go...it's was a dream, get over it.

So the game has gone to extra innings, and it's now the bottom of the 12th. There's a runner on third with 2 outs, and now Bag is at the plate.

He starts with the 1-1 count. I am standing behind him and watching from inside the backstop. Pitch is deep, 2-1 count. Bag takes the next pitch looking, and it's a strike. 2-2 count.

Crowd is growing. The entire team plus the Fanosaurs are now with me watching Bag from inside the Backstop. I decide to sit because I want to stay out of the way, and well, it's more comfy that way. :)

At this time, 3 players from the game that's supposed to play after us decides to run into Right Field and start warming up. Bag asks the Ump to make them leave, and they all comply.

Next pitch -Ball, inside. Full count.

Bag turns around and asks me to stand up because sitting is distracting him.. I comply, as does Rachel who was next to me. I look over and see all of the Manos and Fanos sitting. So I start cheering Bag on, and getting the rest of them into it .The entire field is going crazy for The Bag! The crowd that gathered has even spilled into the field itself.

Next pitch: Bag swings and it hits a hard grounder to Left field. The LF player, who is almost completely surrounded by spectators and jumbles the ball. Our runner who was on third runs in easy. He happens to Be Jeff Nelson fro some reason. Some of you may remember him, not sure why he was there, maybe cause I played baseball with him growing up...that was strange.

Anyway, we leave the field in celebration, and I sit down with Pickett to discuss my hitting stats for the first 2 games now in the books. Bag approaches me and informs me that his camping tent that was in the dugout blew over and got all messed up in some wires so now he can't clean it out. "Don't worry Bag, we'll help you". "Ok thanks, man", and he leaves.

Moral of the dream...go manos

What's even stranger is this came right after the following dream:

FOlodge:

Bag, Ben Doug and I decide to Rent a new apt in Commune. We figure it will make everything easier in the long run. It's a very large 2 bed 1 bath.

Somehow Bag and I are sharing a room, Ben and Doug are sharing. (Very large rooms!).

I start thinking about moving day. This is going to be lots of work cause lots of the people who would help each other are moving in. 4 times the work for all of us. lol.

Wait...what about Rachel....and Pickett...and Alia...and now Brianna. Dude, this is gonna be cramped. That's a lot of umm..private times to try to work around/in. How are we gonna fit all of out different stuff in here? Harder than we thought. Hmmm....Probably just asking for trouble anyway...we'd never get anything done. Haha.

Speechless

I'm actually kind of surprised these things don't happen more often. But still it's beyond shocking. Keep in mind this was in the middle of the 3rd period, his heart must have been racing.
I also noticed the puddles and trail leading from the spot to the bench when they pan out at about 25 seconds into the video.

Unbelievable.

Can't it be both?.....Ah Crap

There has long been a debate commonly known as Nature v. Nurture. Simply saying are you born with all of your personality and abilities, or do you acquire them from the environment you are raised in. The point of this is, either way I think I've been dealt Le Buuuune.

Many, if not all of those reading this have at least met my parents, most have spent quality time getting to know them. These people are both the Nature and vast majority of the Nurture I have been given. Ah Crap...

They got a free night at Harrah's Hotel & Casino last night (a Thursday night mind you). This is nothing new, they get these every few weeks. So as always they went down to the strip after work and checked into their room. They met up at the Diamond Club, a private area reserved for those who gamble too much for their own good, at 7:30pm. At this point, without eating, they sat at the bar and ordered Long Island Iced Teas. Keep in mind these drinks, when made correctly, have about 6 drinks worth of alcohol in them. Over the next hour-and-a-half, my 60 year old parent had 2-3 Long Islands each. The fact that they can't remember how many is testament to what's to follow.

They left the club around 9:00pm, and were going to get a free $50 they had earned to go play. That didn't happen. Neither of them remember going back to the room, but somehow they did. When my did awoke, he had the $50, but obviously had not played it. He showered and got to work around 6:30am, and by 6:45 he was passed out on his office floor. When he awoke once again around 8:30am, he convinced everyone he must have food poisoning, which somehow...they all bought. He went home early around lunch time.

My mother on the other hand, woke up around 8:30am and called her work to tell them she'd be late. When she got there, (a casino mind you) she was completely honest. She was able to leave work around 1:00pm for the remainder of the day.

These are my parents. This is what I have to look forward to. I'm not sure if this is a good thing, or a bad thing. Whether I was born with these traits, or raised in this environment I think I'm pretty screwed. Oh well, at least I have plenty of Degens to be there with me. Should be fun.

Writting for Writting

As Bag clearly noted, I said in my last post that I decided this blog was actually going to be used, because I was tired of feeling isolated. This remains true on both counts. However, I've found it hard to write about anything when all I do is look for jobs all day, and spend the remainder of the time either not hearing back from them or getting turned down. Energizing as this may be to read about, I figured most people would not care to.

Then I realized that I don't need to have anything happen to write about something. Most of the people's blogs I read anymore are mostly comprised of a list of some sort. Whether it be a Mystery Woman contest which I suck huge balls at, or a monthly Top Songs list stolen straight from Almost Famous with no such citation ever given, (j/k Bag...well kinda. lol), or a Fantasy Cast for a new movie. In any sense they're not always "writing about something" so to speak. This was still a challenge for me though, because I had no inspiration to list anything short of beginning a Mystery Men contest, which has been suggested, but that's not my deal. So here's what I got for you, the only thing I could figure right now in my world that is quantifiable in some way:

Top Five Jobs, I've Been Qualified For, Yet Remain Unemployed

5)Loss Prevention AND Customer Service Rep - Best Buy
4)Entry Level/Experienced Management Trainee - APFinacial
3)Research Associate - CSU Psychology Department/Tri-Ethnic Center
2)Human Resources Admin. Specialist - Hewlett Packard
1)Liquid Center Representative - New Belgium Brewery

So there Ya have it. Keep in mind these are just the ones that really got my spirits up. I could do one of these every week, we'll see. I think I can come up with something a bit more exciting.

Sincerely,
Your Tax Dollars (Not) At Work

I changed my mind...

I'm tired of being stuck up in the great white north with no friends. I'm actually going to use this blog. So check back often as I have nothing better to do.
